Animal Assisted Therapy

Meet Harper, she loves meeting new people and working with children and young people. She’s very friendly and loves a good cuddle. She’s been rescued from a shelter in Hungary where she spent part of her life on the streets, then in a kill shelter. This girl has been on quite the journey and many clients can relate to the difficult past that she’s been through. Harper, along with 2 guinea pigs, Poppy and Bailey and a tortoise, Tiddles have all been adopted and are the perfect co-therapists when working with children and young people. There are numerous researches that illustrate the benefits of working therapeutically with an animal, such as a decrease in anxiety and depression, increase in self-esteem and social confidence as well as helping with the development of social skills.

Online or Telephone counselling

Online counselling will take place online via Skype or E-mail. This offers a virtual face-to-face conversation where you would be in the comfort of your own confidential space. On the other hand, e-mailing will allow you to use the written word which offers reflection and working at your own pace. It will also enable you to re-read e-mails between sessions and also after our work has ended.
